The journey to Cape Sounio takes you outward from Athens through the upscale, seaside neighborhoods that have earned the area the nickname, “the Athens Riviera.” The coast is lined with fish tavernas and luxurious, resort-style beaches along with wild, rocky terrain that brings to mind epic tales of heroes and monsters, culminating with our destination: the ancient temple of Poseidon. This trip includes a visit to Lake Vouliagmeni and Varkiza with optional time for swimming or sunbathing.

Included:

Pick up: we arrive at your requested pick-up point (port, airport, hotel, home, etc.) at the time you request.
Neighborhoods of Glyfada and Vouliagmeni. Break for a beverage in one of the popular coastal coffee places along the harbor: 30 minutes-1 hour
Choice of private or public beach for a swim: 1 hour
Storytime for the remainder of the drive to the Temple of Poseidon: >1 hour
Visit to the Temple of Poseidon and archaeological museum: 1 hour
Return toward Athens with a stop at a local fish taverna: <1 hour with approximately 30 minutes left on the drive back to Athens.
Return to requested drop-off location.
